November General Meeting & Luncheon

  • November 02, 2015
  • 11:00 AM - 1:30 PM
  • The Monday Club, San Luis Obispo, 1815 Monterey St., San Luis Obispo CA 93401
Our November Program celebrates local Farm To Table food. Guest speaker Andrea Shapiro Chavez, Manager of Talley Farms Fresh Harvest, will be with us along with Two Cooks Catering Russ Thomas for a live demo!

Andrea is a Cal Poly graduate, earning a degree in Economics in 1980.  She has spent the last 30 years working at various levels in the produce business from Western Regional Sales Manager for Dole Fresh Vegetables, to being a Buying Broker, shipping produce all over the world, to owning her own business for 13 years delivering fresh produce and gourmet food to homes and offices in Southern California.  In February of 2012, Talley Farms hired her to create a new, local, consumer program for them called Talley Farms Fresh Harvest.  As a mother, wife and cook who loves fruits and vegetables, her passion in life is to "GET PEOPLE TO EAT MORE PRODUCE!"

Two Cooks Catering’s exclusive use of local farmers’ market produce, fresh meats, and local seafood brings out the best of the Central Coast’s exceptional foods with a distinctive global touch. Our core philosophy to maintain a high level of quality in everything we do is showcased in the seasonal dishes we create.

Luncheon cost is $17 and can be paid for in advance by clicking here: Brown Paper Tickets. Please note that you MUST have a lunch reservation by October 26th for this event.  All those with a reservation may pay in advance using the above link or at the door.

We will "Pass The Bread Basket" for cash donations for Holiday gift and gas cards for The Women's Shelter this month. Please visit The Women's Shelter Donations list for this club year for more details. Our SLO and North County Women's Shelters thank you. And much gratitude to Sharon Peters for heading up this program!
